Style | Pastel and Floral for Spring

Over the weekend I attended the Nordstrom Spring Preview event where they showcased some amazing "new" trends for Spring.  I use the word new loosely because really they are just bringing back trends from the 90's.  One trend that wasn't shown, but is always timelessly "Spring" is pastel floral.  The way to keep this trend looking fresh and current is how you style it.  I'm not talking head to toe floral like your Mom used to wear every Easter Sunday friends.  I chose to mix floral pants with metallic accents to update the classic print.

Pastel Florals

I love these Pixie Pants!  They are such a great silhouette: skinny without being skin tight.  They are super flattering and really comfortable.  I also grabbed a navy pair that are a great alternative to denim for an easy way to put together a dressed up look without compromising comfort.  The white and pastel color palette are a great way to showcase the floral print without looking like an Easter tablecloth.

Spring Pastels

Every girl should have a good pair of metallic pumps in her closet.  They will be great for every season, I promise!

bracelets

I kept the accessories pretty simple since I was sporting some serious shoes.  A couple of metallic bracelets were just perfect.

Kate Spade Bag

I purchased this bag back in January because I knew the color could pass for any season.  This burgundy goes great with pastels, jewel tones and earthy hues for Fall.  If you are going to invest in a really good bag, make sure it's a color that will transition with seasons, trends and occasions.  Kate Spade is offering 25% off all sale items through today with code HOPTOIT.  I've linked some of my favorites below.

Ponytail

You have to love when your ombre color creates a beautiful color blocking effect!  My girl Jen from Through the Make Up Mirror pulled my hair into a low ponytail leaving just a few stands in the front out of the rubber band.  She then pulled those back and pinned them around to hide the rubber band.  You can totally handle that one on your own friends!  Jen also did an amazing job on my Make up using some of my fave Frankie Rose Cosmetics.

Sweatshirt

I kind of fell in love with this sweatshirt the second I saw it.  Can you blame me?!  I paired it with a basic pink pastel oxford shirt.  Today only you can get 50% off 1 item at Old Navy with code EGGSTRA and 30% off everything else.  Hop on it!

Happy PlannerKeyboard Skin

Two of the blogging supplies I seriously can't live without are 1. My Happy Planner and 2. A cute Keyboard Skin.  This is the most fun and versatile planner I've seen.  It is fully customizable by purchasing add on packs, stickers, pockets, note pads...seriously they make a ton of stuff to allow you to make a planner that serves any need you may have.  You can add a fitness section, meal planner, cleaning schedule, wedding planner and they are even launching a teacher and student version of the planner.  If you have kids (or pets) you need to have a skin on your laptop keyboard.  It has been a lifesaver more times than I can count.  At under $7 and with a  bunch of colors and patterns to choose from it is was cheaper than replacing your laptop due to something getting spilling on it.
