Style | Transitioning Your Maxis For Fall With Shabby Apple
One thing I love about Summer style is how easy it is to just throw on a maxi and go while still looking pulled together. One of our favorite places to shop for maxi dresses is Shabby Apple and this striped hooded number has been my go to. (similar or similar) So when the weather turned cooler I had to figure out a way to make it work for Fall.
This dress has short sleeves so I layered a flannel and utility jacket from Old Navy to keep me warm without adding a bunch of bulk. The nice thing about this dress is that it's made out of sweatshirt material so it keeps my legs warm.
I really love anything with pocket so having a little pouch is one of the reasons this has been my go to dress lately. It's nice to be able to run in to a store with 3 kids and just be able to put your keys, phone and debit card in a pocket. I do not need one more thing to lug around!
Black and white stripes are the perfect base to experiment with pattern mixing. Red is classic and this dark green brings in a little earthy tone making for a great combo.
Hey! Did you know we are throwing our Favorite Things Party for the first time in Utah. Have you been to a favorites party? You grab your favorite item under $5, get 5 of them, and at the party you will receive 5 new favorites from party goers. It’s a win win for all involved. Treats, girlfriends, new friends, and gifts.
We also are teaching an awesome class at Pinners Conference in Salt Lake City, UT on November 6th at noon. We will be making super cute rustic signs and if you are in the area we’d love to have you!
One other way to bring your maxi style into the Fall is to pair your dress with a wedged boot instead of a wedged sandal. Having your toes all tucked in will keep you warm and toasty, you can even wear short socks cause no one will even see them! Jen and I both have these from Target and wear them everywhere because they are so comfortable!
