This year I have both my boys in school which leaves Kennie and I with lots of girl time during the week. While she is eager to be a "big girl" and go to school with your brothers, she just loves having some one on one time with Mom all to herself. It's a whole new world being home with just child again. It's so much easier to get out explore, we have regular brunch dates with our other "girlfriends" and we have lots of time to play. One of our favorite things to do is play with LEGO DUPLO
This package of LEGO DUPLO came with these fun easy to follow building cards. I love that LEGO DUPLO preschool building toys are specially designed for the small hands and big imaginations of children aged 1½ - 5 years. DUPLO bricks are twice the size of standard LEGO bricks, making them a safe way to kick off a child's building career.
Kennie is easily able to follow the graphic cards and build on her own. This gives her self confidence a boost which I think is such an important character trait to build starting at a young age. Imaginative play is a great way to work on skills like creative problem solving.
This fun, colorful chest makes for great storage when you are done playing with your bricks. Kennie and I can quickly clean up and she can carry it to another part of the house if she wants to continue playing.
I just love this sweet smile on her face when she completes each of the darling figures. Time together and smiles like this are just priceless and I know that these moments we share help her to know how special she is and how much we love her.
Play is essential for early learning – it IS the way young children learn about their world; parents are their child(ren)’s first partner in play. What is your number one tip for maximizing playtime?
