Modern Christmas Advent Calendar
A couple years ago I purchased a really cute advent calendar kit from Silhouette. I was so excited to get working on it once it arrived...sadly my excited began to dwindle as I designed, cut and assembled boxes 13 and 14. With 10 more boxes to go I put it in my craft closet and there it still sits. Last year I really wanted to do an advent activity with my kids and pulled together some things I had on had to make this simple and easy modern advent calendar.
Supplies: clothes pins | brown paper bag | bakers twine | small decorative paper bags (any size) | washi tape | scissors | paint, glitter and glue
First I painted half of my clothes pins with mint paint only half way up so they looked "dipped" then I painted the other clothes pins with school glue and dipped them in glitter. Let dry.
My paper bags were too big for the look I wanted so I cut the side and top to my desired size. Then I taped the side closed with some cute coordinating washi tape.
I cut out squares from the brown paper bag and numbered them using a white paint pen. Then I just hung them up and added in a couple glitter feathers that I had picked up at Hobby Lobby.
What should you put in your little advent bags??? HERE is a link to a bunch of really fun ideas ready to print!
