It’s taken a bit, but I have finally gotten around to share Kennedy’s nursery. It has made quite a transformation from the boy’s blue and brown nursery to this bright and airy room fit for our precious baby girl.
I bought this dresser off craigslist and painted it using homemade chalk paint. I paid $50 for it and sold the mirror that came with it for $20 so this beauty only cost me $30 plus a quart of paint.
The stained frame was a craft project that I did at SNAP, the clock is from Ikea {it was black and I sprayed it gold}, string art was our craft project at Elevate Conference this year and the little mini frames were donated by Cut It Out frames for our Elevate swag bags this year too.
I got this old bedframe off craigslist for $60 and used homemade chalk paint on it too. Bedding is from Target and the throw blanket is from World Market. You can’t tell from the photo, but it’s mint and white herringbone. It was love at first sight!
This mirror frame is actually from a painting of my grandmothers. I had a mirror cut and placed in it and sprayed it silver for the boys’ nursery. I wanted to keep it in her nursery because it’s so special to me so I whipped out the gold spray paint again and it matches the room perfectly.
There was a point where I had a creative block and couldn’t figure out how to fit the bed and crib in here without having a awkward sized empty corner. Allison from
Madison Design Studio is seriously brilliant and suggested this cute little reading nook and it really brought it all together.
The polka dots on the wall are actually gold glitter vinyl. I was inspired by some gold wall decals I saw at Land of Nod, but the gold was a bit too yellow. I love the gold glitter vinyl from
Expressions Vinyl so I cut out some circles with my Silhouette and just applied them to the wall.
I love this chair, really really love this chair. It’s from Target and so comfortable, but that’s not why I love it so much. Kennie and I have spent many hours nursing and rocking in it. I have soaked in her newborn smell, quieted her cries and stared at her beautiful peaceful face as she slept. That is why I love this chair.
I actually made her bedding myself. I used bumper forms from Hobby Lobby and they were really easy to sew because the foam is flat instead of a pillow form like most bumpers.

Kennie has promised Lennie and I that she will never get married and leave us…mainly cause Lennie says she is never allowed to date. She’s going to get a lot of use out of this room. *Most photos courtesy of the talented
