Mini Candy Corn Felt Bunting

We recently moved from a town house to a cute little 1 story house in the perfect neighborhood.  Our town house was great, but I never really felt like it was home.  The moment we stepped into this new house I knew that this was a place we could finally settle into and make our own.  Fall this year just feels so special.  Our house feels like a home and even though it's still September and about 90 degrees, I've already started decorating for Halloween.  My silhouette is still packed away, but my Sizzix Big Shot has been my go to crafting tool and I haven't missed my electronic machine one bit.

The other night I sat in bed (love that I can craft in bed with the big shot!) while cutting out these cute little candy corns for a bigger bunting and had extras so I created this little mini bunting and think it's just the cutest!  If I had time I would have baked a cake and used 2 chop sticks to hang this bunting across it.  My kids selfishly wanted to eat today so no cake baking was done.  The nerve of them right?!

I used the Candy Corn die from Sizzix and cut orange, yellow and white shapes out.  The die makes slits where each color should change so it's easy to snip off the section for each color.  I kept the white shape whole and then glued the yellow and orange pieces into place with my handy dandy glue gun.

I wanted to add a pop of color so I used the 1 inch Circle die to cut these bright purple circle shapes out.  I love that I can cut 10 circles out with 1 pass through!  I remember the days of tracing a bottle cap with a sharpie then having to cut each one out.  It makes me bored just thinking about it.

The last thing I had to do was just run all the shapes through my sewing machine using a straight stitch one by one.  This was such a fun and easy craft, you literally need zero skill to pull it off!  My 3 year old actually loved helping me too.  He loves to use the hand crank to roll the dies through the Big Shot.  Takes no effort at all really.

Big thanks to Sizzix for being such big supporters of the Elevate Conference this year!  We had a fabulous time crafting with you all on the beach back in May and hope you all will check out their awesome products!  Did you know they have an affiliate program?!  That's right, you can get free products and get paid for crafting.  You can apply HERE.
