3 Tips to Help you Love Working Out
I have taken a very strong stance against working out. It just isn't for me...or so I thought. In all my 36 years of life, I have never worked out on the regular. I'd put in a day or two hear and there, but I could never get a routine to stick. That is until now. I am happy to report that I am on week 4 of working out 3-4 days a week and have turned to the dark side. The secret to loving working out can be found in the following 3 tips. You may laugh at them at first, but just give them a try. You might just find yourself craving to get your pump on too.
1 Get Yourself Something Cute
There is a whole lot of truth to the saying, "If you look good, you feel good." Grab a couple of pairs of cute leggings and some sweet shoes, I linked these and my other faves under $30 at the end of this post.
2 Schedule Your Workout Around Something You Want to Avoid
Getting kids off to school has to be one of the worst ways to start your day. The fighting to get dressed, the yelling to come in the bathroom to brush your teeth, the refusal to the hot lunch offered on the schedule so you are forced to actually make a lunch. I'd do almost anything to avoid this morning circus...even go to Pilates. So I do. I go to the 7 am pilates class and let my darling husband get the kids off to school at least once a week.
3 Attend Your Workout Close to Shopping Venues
I mean, shopping can be cardio! Instead of going home after my workout to sit at my desk and let my muscles tense up, I go on a walk...through the aisles of my favorite stores. I may even hit up Trader Joe's to stock up on my family's favorite groceries if I'm feeling generous. Gap and Charming Charlie happen to be my first stops, but at least I brought a little something home for everyone.
Like I said earlier...you may think this sounds a little silly, but give it a try. You may find you actually look forward to your new morning ritual.
