Kid Style | Freshly Picked at Disneyland
As a kid growing up I can remember our yearly trips to Disneyland with my cousins. My Grandma took us all every Summer and I cherish those memories so much. Now as a parent, getting to see my children experience this magic place and make lasting memories as a family is even more precious. I seriously cry every time we watch the parade or fireworks show. In those moments my heart is so full of gratitude for all the blessing we enjoy that it can be hard to hold my emotions in. I want to remember these experiences perfectly so I've been on a kick to capture adventures with my "real" camera lately. It has been gathering a little dust and I would love to get better at using it so I lugged it around with us on our Disney trip last week.
I never realized how great of a location it would be to shoot at, so many happy and bright colors! We were headed out of Monsters Inc. in California Adventure and getting ready to go home when we passed by this cement bench that had a beautiful mosaic behind. I made them hop up and they were more than happy to run all up and down it and pose away.
I mean you can tell these kiddos just lead a miserable life, right?!
I have searched high and low for the perfect skinny jeans for my boys. They have little chicken legs like their Daddy so most skinny jeans don't seem to be skinny enough, but like Goldie Locks: these ones are juuuust right! Perfectly slim without being too tight and they are comfortable enough for them to run and climb and wrestle in with no complaint. Considering the fact that my kids usually come home and go straight to their room to change into pajamas everyday after school, having them stay on for playtime is a big deal. Plus they are under $20 right now.
We also could live in everything Printed Palette! Their shirts are so soft and I love finding unique pieces for them. Every kid at school pretty much lives in Shawn White for Target so it's nice that I can find something that is still cool and affordable outside of Target. I don't know if any other Mom's out there fight their boys to get their hair done in the morning, but for us they would pick a hat any day over having to get gel put in their hair. Dylan has had this hat for years (similar here & here) and it has held up so well. Aside from Gavin pretty much chewing off the little dots in the back where it snaps closed, it's in perfect condition.
These boyfriend jeans (similar here) are a little snug on Kennie now, but I just can't let them go. I need to grab more in a larger size. Why do little ones always look so cute in grown up clothes? My favorite fabric on a little girl is this eyelet. It's so dainty and classic. This is actually a shift dress (similar here) that is too small, but works perfectly as a tunic. I hold on to a lot of her dresses that get too short and pair them with leggings or jeans to get some more life out of them. More bang for your buck!
How sweet is that bow detail on the back of the keyhole opening?!!!
A couple months ago I got really really sad when I sold off Kennie's old mocc collection that she couldn't fit in. I thought that our obsession with these highly coveted shoes was over, until they released these Next Step Moccs! They are a hard sole mocc made of the same high quality, soft leather with the same fringe detail that I love from their original moccs, but they have a rubber sole so they will last. The genius addition of no tie elastic laces is a life saver!
Kennie still fits into their larger size baby moccs so I am soaking in every moment of seeing her tiny feet in these adorable shoes. They are so easy to put on, she has some chunky feet so regular shoes are such a pain at this stage. She loves them too, she can actually put them on herself so she gets to exercise her independence.
Dylan is so cute when he wears these, he says that the fringe makes him "Turbo". He then proceeds to run all around the house as fast as he possibly can.
You can tell by her pose that she didn't mind showing off her favorite shoes.
Shop Freshly Picked Moccs here, they have tons of beautiful colors and patterns. I've purchased from other handmade shops, but nothing comes close to their quality and durability. Next time you held out and about with your cute family I highly suggest you grab your "real" camera to snap a couple photos. You will be so glad you did!
