Do you remember the dark ages before the invention of Cake Pops???  Yeah, me neither.  Cake, frosting, chocolate, sprinkles...on a stick.  There may never be a more perfect union.  Since a party just isn't complete unless those babies are present, I created a way for you to display them.  This Cake Pop stand is quick and easy to create and with a quick trip to Michael's to grab some Americana multi-surface paint and a wood plaque you will be partying in no time!

You'll need the following:

Wood plaque (Michael's) | Americana multi-surface paint (Michael's) | glitter |sand paper | marker

drill | ruler | paint brush

I wanted a really light mint color for this stand so I mixed a blue, green and white till I got the perfect shade.  Then I painted 2 good coats and let dry.

I them applied a very generous third coat and immediately sprinkled glitter all over it.  I was racing the sun to get these photos done for this post and to my surprise not a flake of glitter blew off when I was blow drying it so I could get to the next step.

Now had I been thinking clearly I would have done this next step first so I could sand the top of the holes, but it works just fine this way too.  Take a ruler and mark out where you want to drill your holes for your Cake Pops.  Make sure they are spaced out enough so the tops aren't bumping into each other.  Match your drill bit to the size of your pop stick and drill 3/4 of the way through your stand.

Sand down your holes a little bit and you are all set!  I put some washi tape on the sticks to give them a little extra color.

This stand can also do double duty as a lollipop holder as I did in Kennie's Vintage Circus Party
