I snagged this vintage highchair from a Facebook group where we list things we are trying to get rid of and immediately knew she needed to be mine and could use a little make over. Since I already had a stash of mint paint from Kennedy’s nursery furniture, I whipped up some homemade mint chalk paint and went to work. Here is the finished product!
And here is what she used to look like.
To make your own Homemade Chalk Paint just mix 2 cups flat paint, 3 tablespoons plaster of Paris and 1 tablespoon water.
I can’t even believe how little Kennie was when I took these photos. Time certainly does just fly on by. She still uses this highchair every day to eat in. It still looks great, the tray looks a little more “loved”, but it just adds to the vintage charm. I hope she can use it for her little babes someday.

I love this! Can you tell me what color/brand paint this is? I have searched your site and can’t find it.
HI there, I have the exact high chair and wanting to paint it this weekend the same color as above. What color and brand is that if you don’t mind me asking?
What type of finish did you put on after the paint? Since baby food would end up on it, I’m trying to figure out what finish to use.
If you used a corrupted chainsaw, the paint could settle on sawdust. Can there be a problem if the child starts to nibble on the table?
