Sometimes a great skirt can be hard to find. I’m always on the look out for something unique and different. Something that stands out. There once was a time where an elastic band skirt and v neck T-Shirt was the only “dressy” combo in my fashion vocabulary. I was in a slump, that was before Pinterest…if you can even remember that. Since discovering blogs and Pinterest and social media I’ve expanded my vocabulary quite a bit and really enjoy stretching my creative comfort zone. I found this Neoprene pleated skirt (similar) and fell in love hard.
I’ve seen designers on Project Runway work magic with this amazing fabric and love what Target did with this super soft version (similar here). It was chilly up in the canyon so I paired it with tights and my favorite black wedge booties.
I love a big statement necklace, but there is something beautiful about a simple piece like this one. I’m not sure I would ever get a tattoo of my husband’s name so this initial necklace will have to be second best. Seeing it throughout the day reminds me of him and totally makes me smile.
This Ivory Kate clutch is pure genius! It has a pocket to slide your hand and thumb through to make you totally forget you are carrying around a purse. It’s made of the softest leather and has a fun print on the inside. Plus I’m obsessed with Kate, I kind of want to be her. She is effortlessly hilarious and how could you not love someone who can make you laugh and feel included even though you have just met.
I layered my favorite Chambray shirt that you have seen a time or two with a classic black and stripe sweater (similar here and here) that I have had for years. A piece like this can be mixed with just about anything: over a dress, with distressed jeans or with shorts.
