Life is always crazy with 3 little ones, but it’s about to get even crazier with Summertime just a day away. Usually our Summer days are spent lounging and relaxing, which the kids love…for about an hour and then they are itching to get out of the house. This year I have decided to really try and listen to them.. to their behavior and notice what’s it really about when they act up and fight: Boredom. However, that is a skill that I am sure will take some work on my part. What I do have down though is my “On the go” Mom style.
It’s so easy to get caught up in work and keeping house and managing a family that sometimes the TV stays on a little too long and the kids start craving some attention. Today we talked about some ideas for what we would do and where we would go and they all started getting so excited. It’s that excitement that gets me going and motivated to take on all the extra work that is required when taking day trips and outings with all these little ones.
I mean look! They literally run circles around me!
That is why comfy clothes are a must when I’m prepping for the day ahead. These chucks are my everyday go to, they are simply the most comfortable shoes and I just love that I can have comfort without the bulk of an athletic sneaker. A lot of moms shy away from white pants, but these jeans clean up like a cinch with a little bleach.
I might have scoffed at my Stitch Fix stylist when she sent me this utility jacket for the Summer, but then I put it on and promptly ate my words. It’s so soft and light weight, seriously the perfect summertime jacket. And really, how could you not love all the extra pockets?! Let’s take a moment to just admire this gorgeous navy canvas and leather Jily Jade diaper bag. Isn’t she just beautiful?! I have 2 other Jily Jade bags, but this one is my fave. It’s so easy and I love that is has so many pockets on the outside. You can carry it backpack, cross body or shoulder carry all in a matter of seconds. The best part is that it has a diaper insert that can be taken out when you are frolicking around kid free. I should probably mention that it’s on sale for under $200.
Kennie loves that she can easily access for snacks.
… and books…
… and sippy cup. I have to apologize now for the abundance of photos in this post…and there are more to come below. Joanna from Joanna Miriam Photography caught aver 250 that I just fell in love with so really I did a great job at narrowing them down for you all. Kennedy just thought she was so fun and it made it stress free to see her have a great time instead of attempting to get plain old poses from her. She and Jen (my fab hair and make up artist) are always offering amazing deals on mini shoots so make sure to follow Joanna on Instagram for details.
Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of photos like this one on Instagram this Summer.
… and this one. We might be huge fans of Sidecar Donuts in Costa Mesa, Ca. If you are anywhere near Costa Mesa it’s a place you must visit and experience. They make their donuts fresh every hour. That’s right friends…they have someone there all day baking fresh donuts that literally melt in your mouth and take you away to the Paradise City. You may have noticed that shiny, bright, white druzy ring on my donut loving finger. It’s from The Silver Loft and all their stuff is just darling.
Just like this beautiful gold bar necklace they custom stamped for me with mine and Lennie’s initials on it. It’s one of those pieces you never ever want to take off. This shirt is from H&M and only $10 and the softest, best fitting shirt of life and isn’t this green so amazing?!! I could go on and on about it and may have the same exact one is about 5 other colors.
There is a very special skill set that one must attain in order to create a look that is so perfectly thrown together and Jen from Through the Make Up Mirror has mastered it. I always feel so glamorous and pampered when she is taking care of my hair and make up, like I don’t have a care in the world. She really is such a joy to work with, you need to follow along with her on Instagram!
Kennie’s dress is from Gap and she is in that super enjoyable (sarcastic font) stage where she will only wear dresses. At least she has good taste in dresses. I love the attached tutu on this one. Her shoes are Toms and we both love the rubber material. It breathes really well so it doesn’t get all sweaty and stinky. She love that they go on easily and she can do it herself. #missindependant This outfit is the perfect compliment to Mom’s on the go style.
