We have a tradition where all the girls in my family get together the Sunday after Thanksgiving to make candy. We always make caramel, toffee and peanut butter balls. This year we were cooking and I noticed that my Mom was in bad shape in the spatula department. Like BAD bad! We almost had to resort to using a wooden spoon, it was that bad. I quickly decided to remedy that situation and threw these guys together as a gift for Christmas for her. Anyone would love to get these I promise you, heck, I had a hard time wrapping them up cause they would have looked so cute in my own kitchen. This gift idea is inexpensive and would perfectly pair with a cookbook, recipe in a jar or baking pans. Best of all it will only take you about 5 minutes! Here is how you create these Washi Tape Spatulas.
Here is what you are going to need: Spatulas, washi tape and scissors. That’s it! I got these adorable mini spatulas at TJ Max Homegoods. They are perfect for getting the last bits out of condiment bottles and everything is cuter in a mini version.
Grab your washi tape, I picked these patterns up at Target because they matched my spatula colors pretty well. Start at one end of your handle and cut a clean edge of washi tape with your scissors and apply it right at the top of the handle.
Press it all the way down to the end of your handle stopping right before the hole. Cut a clean edge there with your scissors too.
Keep using the same method applying the washi tape all the way around the handle.
Then just keep on truckin’ till you finish all your spatulas and figure out if you like your family and friends enough to actually let them go.
See, super quick and easy! Thanks so much for checking out my tutorial and if you would like to see some more quick and easy gift ideas for Christmas check out the links below.
